There are many blue-collar workers who feel they need a life
change. A staggering astronomical number of them feel a need to either
change their life, job, career and do not know where to start. The
reasons are many.
Let
us begin with job frustration and the feeling of going into work
everyday, going through the motions and not getting any satisfaction
because of the repetition and boredom of their daily grind. Most every
blue-collar worker has dealt with this feeling occasionally.
The
feeling of being in a rut plays a big role in desiring a life change
for the blue-collar worker. The person on the assembly line dealing
with production quotas or the worker in the warehouse, inside the
gloomy four walls all day, both wonder how their life came to this
point.
Needing a change in their life comes to those who are
just plain tired of working for somebody else. They feel the physical
toll to their bodies, along with their talent and ideas and dedication,
just to work for the success of another person is a losing situation.
Some feel they have failed all together. Feeling hopeless and sad, they
trudge on with their daily endeavors, wishing for an opportunity to
come their way.
Well, that opportunity will never come to the
desperate blue-collar worker, unless he or she takes a few measures and
decides to take action. And here are a few tips to consider when you
have had enough of the daily grind, or want to break out of the rut.
I
repeat, you need to take action. Realize right now that opportunities
do not present themselves to you, especially in a clear fashion,
written in black and white or even in the form of an epiphany. You, and
only you, have to create the opportunities yourself. Why? Because only
you know what it is that you want. Nobody else can read your mind.
Your
next step should be accepting where you are at the present time, and
telling yourself it is okay. This acceptance is very important and
should be the first step you take. Say to yourself: “This is where I
am. That’s all right for now. Where I am going is up to me and nobody
else.”
Focus on the present. Decide just where you are in your
life, who you are and what you have done, up until now. You have no
control over your past or your future. You can only control the
present. Make the decision to take control of your present situation
and develop a positive mindset.
Taking this measure will help
you look at the whole picture. This is important because then you will
be able to evaluate your life and its circumstances and set some goals.
But
there still may be some thoughts of the past that are getting in the
way. Forget your past, along with its disappointments and circumstances
that enabled you to be where you are now. You have no control over the
past, so do not let it control you. The only way the past can influence
your actions now is only if you allow your thoughts to dwell on it.
Remember
that as a blue-collar worker, you are not alone with the feeling that
you could be living a better life. At the same time, there is nothing
wrong with the manual labor you are doing. It is honorable work. It is
the blue-collar workers that keep the economy rolling in this great
country.
