Thank You For My Wealth

While watching the uncut edition of The Secret DVD I noticed how a woman had cured herself from cancer. She repeated to herself "Thank you for my healing" over and over and she stayed in a positive and happy state of mind.  It suddenly dawned on me, could this simple affirmation work for other things?

We all have a certain area that eludes our desires. For me it is financial independence. Don't get me wrong, I have achieved wealth with my Seven Step System already, but I have not finished with it. Not in this area.

It isn't a matter of not being satisfied with my results or that no matter how much I get, I am not happy with it. What eludes me is my ultimate goal of what I consider financial independence.  This is my sticking point. I have worked the Seven Step System on wealth various times with success and three weeks ago I started using the Secret Step that will remove counter intention as I believe I am have not been getting to the root of the problem.

Well, yesterday while I watched The Secret DVD uncut version suddenly the healing affirmation chanted by the woman who had cancer entered into my awareness. I thought, well, if it works for health, then why not other things that are not well? I decided to start this simple affirmation on a daily basis for a month, "thank you for my wealth".  I started it straight away, so I already have a day under my belt. Then today it went really well until about lunch time. Suddenly I thought, well, maybe what I really want is to be happy and wealth is just what I think I need in order to be happy. After thinking this I decided that the real affirmation had to be, "thank you for my happiness".

For the rest of today I chanted, "thank you for my happiness" over and over again in my mind and out loud when I was on my own. As I did this I felt a sense of righteousness at first, and then realized that it was simply my counter intention getting a hold of me again. It was simply a cop-out.

Yes, I do want my ultimate goal to be my happiness, but this wealth and financial independence is really and truly a worth while goal for me. Not only for me but for my entire family, my clients, students and everyone else I know. It would be a material, physical validation of what I have been working on and teaching for all these years.

The first lesson I learned with this affirmation is that I have to stick to it. An experiment is an experiment after all and if I don't experiment then I won't be able to find new tools for people to use with success.

It is true that as humans we have a tendency to say, "if I had [enter object of desire here] I would be happy." And it is also true that often when we do get [enter object of desire here], we are only temporarily happy before we start saying, "I just need [enter another object of desire here] and then I will be happy." But sometimes achieving a goal is a step in the right direction.

My biggest problem is that I don't seem to be able to receive wealth personally. I can't for the life of me manage to become financially independent.  All of my life I have depended financially on others. It is true that I have never wanted for anything since I started using the Fast Guide Series methods.  I live in a huge and beautiful home; I have a really nice car, and all the other material well-being that I had visualized in the past. But getting there on my own, being able to receive this first hand and being financially independent has totally eluded me.

There is always a catch it seems.

Looking back I can see that I have sabotaged my personal influx of wealth over and over again. Not purposely of course, but by taking actions that I thought would fix things and get even better results.

The other thing that has happened is that the personal exercises on The Fast Guide to Wealth had perfect outcomes with regard to wealth, but with one underlying common denominator, all the objects and situations I put into my lists came true but none of them as a result of an increase of personal income. They came as gifts and presents to myself and my family or through my husband.

It has taken me months, or even years, to realize that I was addressing the wrong thing. Hey, I am not perfect! (what a shock huh)

What I have to address is my personal financial wealth and independence. Not simply being wealthy.  This might not make me happy in the end, but I can assure you it will give me a sense of accomplishment and tools that I can give others to use in their own lives.

For the next month, from today October 17, 2007, to November 17, 2007, I will be chanting, "thank you for my financial wealth and independence". I will also go back to The Fast Guide to Wealth and redo it from the start, this time doing the exercises with the goal of becoming financially independent in mind and not just wealthy.

One of the beauties of the Seven Step System in the Fast Guides is that it can be used over and over again for new goals and our evolving lives. Stay tuned for the results!
